Crystal Beach is centrally located in Destin, where you are literally just minutes away from anything you need or want. Destin is a great spot for fun in the sun. From the beautiful white sandy beaches to the boats and dolphins, there is always something to do. We have compiled several options for fun activities from the perspective of a local resident, so read along to learn more about the area and fun things you can do on your visit.
Crab Island Party
Crab Island is a very popular sandbar next to the bridge from Okaloosa Island to Destin. During any random day in the summertime, you can find hundreds of people flocking to party in the waist deep water. Bring your favorite tunes and all your friends when you come!
Beach Picnic
One of the best things about our local beaches is the ability to sit and have a picnic while enjoying the warm saltwater breeze and emerald water. The beach on Okaloosa Island is generally more secluded and less crowded than other beaches in the area. If you want a place with more action, the beach at Henderson Park or the Crystal Beach access point are both good places to sit and dine.
Snorkeling
There are several great places to snorkel in the local area. The easiest and most enjoyable way to snorkel is to go on a snorkeling boat trip. Destin Snorkel offers multiple snorkeling and boat packages. It is a great activity, not only for adults, but for kids as well. If you want to go snorkeling on your own, a good place for it is near the Destin jetties on Holiday Isle. You can easily walk to the beach from there. In fact, most snorkeling boats make regular stops near the jetties!
Long Walks on the Beach
Make sure while you are in town to take some time for a couple of long beach walks. It’s especially beautiful around sunset! The white sugar sands are soft under your feet as you walk along the shoreline and watch the waves roll in. There really is nothing else more magnificent.
Playtime on the Beach
Although Destin offers vacationers a variety of activities, some of the most fun are found on the beach! Making sandcastles, collecting shells, and burying your friends in the sand are three examples of how beachgoers like to have fun. You can pick up shovels and other sand toys at Target, Walmart, or any local souvenir shop. You can also buy inflatable rafts, floats, noodles, and boogie boards to play with in the water. Remember to put on sunscreen (especially on cloudy days) and have fun!
Kayaking

Fishing
This area claims to be the “World’s Luckiest Fishing Village” and for good reason. The access to deep water and the plentiful fish population makes it a fisherman’s dream.
