Things to do in November in Destin, Florida    

Wondering what to do in November in Destin, Florida? It might not be the peak season for swimming in the Gulf, but there are numerous outdoor activities and festive events happening in November. Plus the weather is cooler and the beaches are as beautiful as ever! 

Blues, Brews and BBQ at HarborWalk Village 

Bring the family for a day of food, fun and music at the Blues, Brews and BBQ Festival on Saturday, November 9. During this barbecue block party, over 15 of the Emerald Coast’s best restaurants will compete in a BBQ competition, offering samples of creative BBQ dishes and specialty sauces. There will also be live musical performances from John Hart and Tyler Mac. The docks will be filled with the aroma of smoky ribs and pulled pork!

Destin Crafted 

Imbibe for a good cause at Destin Crafted on Saturday, November 9. Sample hundreds of small-batch beers and bourbons while raising funds for Children in Crisis, Inc. and enjoying food from some of the area’s best restaurants. This event also features live music performances, games, and a raffle with awesome prizes. 

Touch-A-Truck at Destin Commons 

If you’re looking for things to do in Destin, Florida that are family friendly,  Touch-A-Truck is a great event! On Saturday, November 9 from Noon – 4pm, families can see, touch and learn about a wide variety of vehicles and how they serve our community. The event will take place near Bass Pro Shop in the Destin Commons and all proceeds go towards The Junior League of the Emerald Coast to help support various projects such as Child Clothing Project. 

6 th Annual Veteran’s Day Race 

The Destin Vets Day 5K will take place on Saturday, November 9 at 8am. Show your appreciation for our veterans while walking or running the 3.1-mile course, which starts at the American Legion and heads north on historic Main Street to Indian Bayou and back. Proceeds to go Team RWB, Building Homes for Heroes and Main Street Community Garden. This patriotic event also includes an after party with food from local vendors, beer and a 50/50 raffle.

Holiday Craft Show 

Get a head start on holiday shopping at The City of Destin’s  13 th Annual Holiday Craft Show on Friday, November 15 and Saturday, November 16. Located at the Destin Community Center, shoppers can browse booths with over 50 vendors selling handcrafted jewelry, wreaths, books, concessions and more. Admission is free! 

Turkey Trot Fundraiser at Boat House Oyster Bar

This Turkey Trot Fundraiser isn’t your average holiday 5K. At this East Pass Slacker 0.5K on November 16, participants start the morning with a Bloody Mary and walk, skip or jump up the hill to the partnered stops where you’ll find out who can eat donuts, throw toilet paper rolls or shoot a screwdriver faster than anyone else. This event supports  Panhandle Animal Welfare Society , so bring a 20lb (or larger) bag of dog or cat food as a donation to get an additional 3 raffle tickets and 3 free drink tickets. 

Santa’s Arrival and Tree Lighting at Destin Commons 

Ho ho ho! There are numerous things to do in Destin, Florida to get you into the holiday spirit, such as Santa’s Arrival and Tree Lighting at Destin Commons on Friday, November 22. The magnificent parade begins at 7pm as Santa arrives on Main Street to light the spectacular 50-foot tree. The celebration includes free face painting, photos with Rudolph & Frosty, a holiday photo booth, and festive tunes. An extravagant firework show will end this festive evening. 

Thanksgiving Dinner 

There are a variety of ways to celebrate Thanksgiving by the beach. Whether you’re looking for a buffet, four-course meal or to-go options, many restaurants in Destin, Florida offer Thanksgiving meals.  

Black Friday Shopping 

From local boutiques to your favorite national retailers, there are a plethora of stores that offer Black Friday specials. Destin Commons has popular shops such as H&M, American Eagle, Belk, Express, Steve Madden and more. Silver Sands Premium Outlets is also nearby and boasts over 110 designer and name-brand stores, including Michael Kors, Kate Spade New York and Coach just to name a few.
