Things to Do

Picture this: you're lounging on the beach, gazing at the emerald colored Gulf waters. You have sand as white as sugar between your toes and a refreshing breeze blowing through your hair. Suddenly, you hear those dreaded words - "Mom, I'm bored" or "Dad, it's too hot." Don't let it ruin your perfect moment!

We understand that everyone wants to have fun on vacation, especially the kids. That's why My Vacation Haven has compiled a list of options to help you through those moments of boredom. We want each member of your vacation group to make their own memories and leave the area knowing they had the chance to experience a truly relaxing and fun beach vacation.

If you're looking for free fun for the kids, Topsail Hill Preserve State Park offers hiking trails and other amenities that are family friendly and not expensive.

If the kids are into theater and/or comedy, Kids' Improv Camp is being held on Tuesdays and Thursdays in June and July at The Repertory Theatre in Seaside. They will perform, share stories, and learn the basics of improv with unique challenges and games. Advanced registration is required and tickets are $25.

Got bored teens on your hands? Visit South Walton offers some great ideas for fun, like horseback riding, movies, art galleries, The Rep Theatre, or drama classes at Mattie Kelly. Check out their website for more info.

For a water-filled adventure, head over to Big Kahuna's Water Park, which offers loads of fun for kids and grownups. My Vacation Haven is an added fun partner, so owners and guests get great discounts on tickets. The park is open daily through July, so check their website for more information.
